5x + 7y = 66  ... (i)

2x - 3y = -20  ... (ii)

Multiplying (i) by 3 and (ii) by 7, we get

15x + 21y = 198  ... (iii)

14x - 21y = -140 ... (iv)
 
Adding (iii) and (iv), we get
 
29x = 58 
 
x = 2
 
Substituting the value of x in (ii), we get
 
2(2) - 3y = -20
3y = 4 + 20
3y = 24
y = 8
 
Hence, x=2 and y=8.
