How to make water milky?

Expert Answer:

There are 2 cases:

If it is tap water, then add Silver Nitrate to it. Since tap water contains chloride ion, so it will give a white precipitate of silver chloride or in other words water will turn milky

If it is distilled water, then acidify it with dilute hydrochloric acid and then add Silver Nitrate. Again a white precipitate of Silver Chloride will be formed
