Dear Student,
The median is the middlemost value in a data, when arranged in increasing order
Here, the data is already in increasing order, and the total number of observations = 35
Hence the middlemost observation will be the 18th one.
If we expand the data as follows:
1,1,1,2,2,2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,4,.....
The 18th observation is 3
OR
we can simply add up the frequency f, till we reach 18, to know the corresponding observation value
