The unit of work is Joule and 1 joule = 1 kg m2 s-2
Now covert every unit in its CGS form, i.e., Kg into gram metre into centimetre and seconds will remian as it is.
1 joule = (1000g)(100cm)2 s-2
or 1 joule = 107 g cm2 s2.
or 1 joule = 107 erges.
