Expert Answer
To find molecular formula of lower homologous member of alkene, substract (-CH2) group and to find higher member of the series add (-CH2) group.
Example:
2nd member of the homologous series of alkene is Propene (C3H6)
Now, lower member of the series is Ethene (C2H2)
and higher member that is 4th member of the series is Butene (C4H8)
