How to determine the oxidizing power of different acids and their strengths ? For eg. How to determine which acid is stronger - perchloric acid or hypochlorous acid and which of these is a stronger oxidizing agent?

Expert Answer:
Dear Renuka
With the HClOx acids the acid strength increases as the number of Cl=O bonds increase. Hence, percholric acid ((HClO4) is stronger than hypocholorous acid(HClO).
