H2       +     CuO    →      H2O    +       Cu

                  1 mol            1 mol           

1 mol CuO = 79.5 g CuO

1.970 g CuO = 0.0248  moles CuO

As 1 mol of CuO produces 1 mol of H2O, hence 0.0248 moles of CuO produces 0.0248 moles of H2O.

Now 18 g H2O = 1 mol

0.0248 moles of H2O = 0.446 g

Thus, 1.970 g of CuO will produce 0.0248 moles  or 0.446 g of H2O.
