How many types of image forms due to lenses ? What are those ? Mention the differences

Types of image or nature of image formed by lenses is either real and inverted or virtual and erect. 
Difference between real and virtual image is as follows: - 

Real image

Virtual image

It can be obtained on a screen.

It cannot be obtained on a screen.

The rays of light after reflection meet at a point.

The rays of light after reflection appear to meet at a point.

It is always inverted.

It is always erect but laterally inverted.

It is formed on the same side of the mirror as the object.

It is always formed on the back side of the mirror.

Example: Image formed on the photographic film of the camera.

Example: Image formed by a plane mirror.
