How is the life of a filament of an electric bulb prolonged?

It's highly unlikely to tell the exact value of time for the filament. Apart from Material (tugsten) life of bulb also dpends on the physical condition or weather of the surrounding. Some bulb can't even survive for one day and there is even a bulb which had survived for more than 100 years. It's totally uncertain to tell the exact time.
