How is popcorn formed????

Popcorn or popping corn is a type of corn(maize) which expands from the seed and puffs up when heated. 
Popcorn pops as its seeds have a hard moisture sealed outer shell and dense starch centre. 
On heating, pressure builds in the seeds due to which the seeds pop open and puff up.
