Using math we can find the severity of disease for example:
For the state of maharashtra
 
For a day
Total confirmed cases of covid = 2,844
Total recovered cases of covid = 3,029
 
So we calcuate the net inflow of patients = confirmed - recovered = 2844-3029 = -185
Negative means the no. of patients in hospital are decreasing.
 
But if comes out to be positive, Govt. needs to put restrictions in place to control the spread of disease.
