How is cold formed? Why do our nose get blocked when we get cold?

Rhinovirus infects only a small proportion of the cells lining the nose. Inflammatory mediators cause dilatation and leakage of blood vessels and mucus gland secretion. They also activate sneeze and cough reflexes and stimulate pain nerve fibers.
When the tissues in the membrane become swollen, it blocks the normal passage of fluid through your nasal pathways.
