Expert Answer:

Dear Student

1. By dehydrohalogenation of haloalkanes

Haloalkanes on heating with alcoholic pottassium hydroxide, loses one molecule of hydrogen halide to give alkene.

2. Dehalogenation of vicinal dihalides

The vicinal dihalides undergo elimination reaction in the presence of Zn, and form alkene.
