how is acceleration different from velocity

velocity and acceleration both are different physical quantities.
Velocity is defined as the distance travelled by a body in a particular direction in unit time. Its SI unit is m/s.
Acceleration is defined as the rate at which the velocity of an object changes. Its SI unit is m/s2.
