Enzymes play a significant role in the formation of hormones. Amount of hormone produced depends on the efficiency of the enzyme. Amount of enzyme produced depends on the extent of expression of gene coding for that enzyme. The more the extent of expression of the gene, the more will be the effect of the enzyme produced. Example: Increase in height of plants depends on the amount of growth hormone produced by the plant. Amount of growth hormone produced depends on the efficiency of the enzyme that catalyses the production of the hormone. Amount of enzyme produced depends on the extent of expression of gene coding for that enzyme.
