how does the water kept in an earthen pot becomes cool in summer?

The temperature in the atmosphere is maximum ,and the earthern pot has pores ,when water kept in pot ,it forms vapours and goes towards the pores and takes the latent haet of for vapourisation,from the pot and the remaining water,In this way the remaining water loses heat and gets cooled.
