How does the government preserve public property?

The government has tried various ways, since independence to preserve public property. It has raised the standard of living of the Indian citizens by developing better means of transport, communication, hospitals and health services, schools, new buildings, roads, etc.

However, all this cannot be done solely by the government. It is also the people’s responsibility to cooperate and perform the duties of preserving and protecting public property.
