Do you mean to ask, how does the altitude affect the growth of vegetation in the Himalayan region?
With the increase in altitude there is a decrease in temperature. In the Himalayas, the vegetation differ with the change in altitude.
- it is comparatively warm at the footsteps of the Himalayas, the region has everbgreen forests. At a little highe altitudes.
- Between 1500-3000m above the sea level, coniferous forests like pine and cedar are found.
- At higher altitudes above 3600m level, alpine vegetation like silver fir and birches are found.
- At further higher altitudes, due to extremely cold climate, mosses and lichens are found.
