For an acid, n factor is equal to its basicity.
Example for HCl , it is 1 and for H2SO4 it is 2.
For a base , n factor is equal to its acidity.
Example : For NaOH, it is 1 and for Ca(OH)2 it is 2.
For an oxidation reaction, it is equal to the number of electrons lost.
For a reduction reaction, it is equal to the number of electrons gained.
