how do we calculate magnetic moment???????????????
Asked by anupam | 18th Jul, 2010, 12:00: AM
Expert Answer:
The formula used to calculate the spin-only magnetic moment are:
μ= √n(n+2) B.M.
where n = number of unpaired electrons
μ= √4S(S+1) B.M.
where S = electron spin quantum number
Note: For each unpaired electron, n=1 and S=1/2
