how do u find the lower limit of the modal class?

The following simple example will help to understand quickly,
Examples for Mode of a Grouped Data:
Find the mode of a following grouped data
Class interval (C. I) |
10-15 |
15-20 |
20-25 |
25-30 |
30-35 |
Frequency (fi) |
4 |
6 |
8 |
3 |
5 |
Solution:
Here frequency of class interval 20 - 25 is maximum.
So, it is the modal class
Now
l = the lower limit of modal class = 20
f = frequency of modal class = 8
