how do goggles help the swimmer in seeing object, under water clearly?

Expert Answer:

A swimmer is not able to see properly under water because the human eye is incapable of focusing properly under water because the refractive index of water is so different from that of air.
Goggles used for swimming are designed to protect eyes from the water, weather chlorinated or not and to improve underwater vision.
