The music of robin and mocking bird, the crimson and gold coloured autumn and the summer full of fruits and roses deserted Helen for the entire life. When Helen was nineteen months old, she fell ill because of Acute Congestion of the stomach and brain which led to both blindness and deafness. Helen refers this incident by saying that she was plunged into the 'unconsciousness of a new born baby'.
