Germany faced defeat in the First World War. The war severely affected its economy and prestige. Further, the Great Economic depression of 1929 hit the German economy hard. Industries closed down, number of unemployed people increased and the German currency lost its value. These hostile conditions existing in Germany created an ideal platform for the emergence of Hitler. Due to his fiery speeches, promises of economic development and strengthening the power of Germany in the world politics. He was projected as a messiah and a savior who would wipe out all the problems of the Germans. Hitler thus was voted and became the Chancellor of Germany in 1933. Gradually, he acquired all the political powers and established the rule of Nazism in Germany.
