How did Helen communicate with others regarding her different needs ?

Expert Answer:

Helen touched every object and observed every motion which made her understand and learn many things. The need of some communication with others forced her to make crude signs; a shake of the head meant "No" and a nod, "Yes," a pull meant "Come" and a push, "Go." Suppose, for bread, she would imitate cutting the slices and buttering them. If she wanted her mother to make ice-cream for dinner, she made the sign for working the freezer and shivered, indicating cold. Her mother succeeded in making her understand a good deal. Whenever her mother wished her to bring her something, Helen would run upstairs or anywhere else she indicated and bring in the things.
