Energy is present everywhere. It was never created or destroyed. It was just converted from one form to another.
Example: There is energy in the rays of the sun. In a solar plant, the solar energy is converted into electrical energy. This electrical energy is given to houses and is used to run electrical appliances such as lights and fans. In lights the electrical energy converts into light energy and heat energy and in fans it converts into mechanical energy.
Similarly in all cases energy changes from one to another and the cycle continues. Some heat energy and sound energy gets absorbed and is converted into some kind of energy which cannot be used but it does not get destroyed.
