How can we prove that the three given points are collinear ,using the SECTION FORMULA?

Expert Answer:

You should assume that one of the three point divides the line in  k :1 ratio either internally or externally. Now find the value of k by using section formula.

Here m : n should be replaced by k :1

If the two values of k are equal. Then the three points are collinear.

You can also prove three points to be collinear by finding the slope = (y2- y1)/ (x2- x1)
