How can we find the acceleration of a body if the the acceleration is not uniform

If acceleration of the body is non uniform then you can only find acceleration at an instant called the instantaneous acceleration at any given point or you can find the average acceleration for the entire trip by taking the average of the acceleration over the period that it remains constant by dividing the time period into smaller parts . in other words that means
avg acc = 1/t?adt
