CBSE Class 10 Answered
HOW can we find that whether the element is less reactive or more reactive
Asked by diyapandey.sah | 10 Apr, 2023, 04:55: PM
Dear Student,
Total number of electrons in the outermost shell determines the reactivity of the element.
The elements which can easily loose outermost valence electrons like group 1 (alkali metals), group 2 (alkaline earth metals) are very reactive.
Also, the elements which can easily accept electrons in its outermost shell like group 17 (halogens) are very reactive.
Thus, highly electropositive and highly electronegative elements are very reactive elements.
