Expert Answer
We can receive electromagnetic signals through antennas.
when a signal is radiated away from the transmitter antenna, the signal is in the form of "photons" the 'carrier' of the electromagnetic wave. It is these frequency specific photons that travel across some distance to a receiving antenna. When these photons strike the receiving antenna's elements, it excites atoms in the element itself and electrons are emitted that directly correlates with the radio signal information. This signal current is what gets carried through the antenna lead in wire to the receiver's antenna terminals.
