How can a lysosome can hold the hydrolytic enzymes? How it is not destroy by that enzymes

answered-by-expert Expert Answer

This is because the lysosomal membrane is able to withstand the hydrolytic action of the enzymes. The lysosomal membrane protects the cytosol, and therefore the rest of the cell, from the degradative enzymes within the lysosome. The lysosomal membrane also allows the digestive enzymes to work at the 4.5 pH they require.
