How are UV rays harmful to us?

Expert Answer:

The sun emits ultraviolet radiation in the UVA, UVB, and UVC bands. UVA, UVB and UVC can all damage collagen fibers and thereby accelerate aging of the skin. UVB light can cause direct DNA damage which can lead to skin cancer.
