how 2 carbon atoms make a bond between them ?do they form 4 bonds between them?

Two carbon atoms form a covalent bond between them by sharing electrons.
Two carbon atoms cannot form 4 bonds between them. At the most 3 bonds can be formed between two carbon atoms. Example: Ethane (carbon-carbon single bond), Ethene (carbon-carbon double bond), Ethyne (carbon-carbon triple bond).
