hi there
I want to know how do we calculate the weight of an object scientifically
That is lets say we have an object at the ground which is at the rest
So to calculate weight we have to use w=mg which m * 9.8 m/s
The problem is here - The object is at rest atm then why do we use 9.8 m/s as acceleration to calculate the weight of an object which is still
I hope you get my question

Dear student
9.8 m/s2 is the acceleration due to earth's gravity. It is not the acceleration of the body.
Weight = mass of a body x acceleration due to gravity.
