Universal gravitational constant G is numerically equal to the gravitational force of attraction between two bodies, each of unit mass (1 kg) kept at unit distance (1 m) from each other.
The value of G was found out by Henry Cavendish by using a sensitive balance. The accepted value of G is 6.67 x 10-11 Nm2/kg2.
