Expert Answer
DNA is the genetic material of most living organisms. If changes occurs in the reproductive tissue of an organism, the changes will be inherited since the gametes are produced in the reproductive tissues. These gametes on fusion form the zygote, which develop to form the organism. The DNA is the material which is responsible for carrying all the features to the next generation from the parents. So if the changes occuring in the reproductive tissues are to be inherited, the change has to be stored in the DNA.
