Used as a solvent for gums and resins.
Used in thermometers due to its low freezing point.
In the manufacture of chemicals and synthetic products like dyes,perfumes, antiseptics, preservatives etc.
Used in alcoholic drinks.
One of its products, chloroform is used as an anaesthetic.
