According to the principle of calorimetry, heat liberated = heat absorbed.
So, mass of metal block x specific heat of the metal x change in temp. = mass of ice x latent heat of fusion.
Change in temp. of metal = 1000 - 0 = 1000o.
Apply the above formula and calculate the specific heat of the metal.
