h2s solubiltiy

Expert Answer:

Solubility of H2S gas = 0.195moles of H2S gas in 1000 g of water.

nH2O = 1000 / 18 = 55.5 moles

xH2O  = 0.195 / 0.195 + 55.5

        = 0.0035

Given pressure at STP = 0.987 bar

According to Henry’s  law :

pH2S = KH * xH2S

KH = 0.987 / 0.0035 bar

     = 282 bar
