Expert Answer
Organisms are classified into 5 kingdoms based on the structure of cells (prokaryotic or eukaryotic), unicellular or multicellular organisation of body and the different mode and source of nutrition.
The unicellular prokaryotes are grouped under kingdom Monera. The unicellular eukaryotes belong to Protista whereas the multicellular eukaryotes are classified based on the presence or absence of cell-wall. Organisms in kingdom Fungi possess cell-wall but do not carry out photosynthesis. Plantae are plants with cell walls and able to perform photosynthesis. Animals on the other hand are multi-cellular eukaryotes lacking cell-walls.
