Chemical reactions which take place in the presence of light are called photochemical reactions.

Example:

(1) Photosynthesis is a chemical reaction in which food is prepared by green plants.

       Light is necessary for the reaction to take place.

                      

         Photosynthesis is a photochemical reaction in which the leaves of green plants prepare glucose

(2) Silver bromide when kept in the sun decomposes to form silver and bromine gas.
