1. Proper nutrition: Eat healthy and protein rich foods. A balanced diet which contains the correct amount of each food constituent sufficient for the normal growth and development of the body and keep the person healthy should be consumed.
2. Clean food: Eat clean and covered food. Food contaminated with dust and flies should never be consumed.
3. Pure drinking water: Drink clean and boiled water. Avoid drinking water from public places.
4. Clean surrounding: Keep your surroundings clean and free from breeding grounds. Do not dump garbage in your surroundings.
5. Avoiding overcrowded places: Avoid visiting overcrowded places like fairs to prevent the spread of contagious diseases.
6. Domestic hygiene: Use washed and cleaned utensils for cooking and eating. Keep your house neat and tidy to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes and flies.
7. Personal hygiene: Bathe regularly, cut your nails and keep your body clean. Girls should take special care of cleanliness of the body during the time of menstrual flow.
8. Regularity: Practice all good habits on a regular basis. Do not forget to carry out your daily activities like visiting the toilet, brushing teeth etc. regularly.
9. Exercise: Physical exercises like brisk walking, jogging, swimming, cycling, dancing, playing outdoor games etc. should be performed regularly. They keep the body fit, improve mental health, protect the person from heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity, build and maintain healthy muscles, bones and joints, increase the efficiency in studies, sports and work and improve the general sense of well-being and makes a person feel happier.
10. Relaxation: Enjoy a sound sleep for at least 6 hours. Early to bed and early to rise will allow you to be fit and fine.
11.Vaccination: Get the vaccines administered as per their fixed timetable. Many diseases like polio, diphtheria, whopping cough etc. can be prevented by administering vaccines like BCG, Polio etc.
