Expert Answer
Radius of curvature of mirror , R = 10 cm
Focal length f = 5 cm
wire is placed at u = 20 cm
we have mirror equation , ( 1/v) + (1/u) = 1/f
where v is mirror-to-image distance
1/v = (1/5) - (1/20) = 3/20
Hence , mirror to image distance = (20/3) cm = 6.67 cm
Magnitude of magnification = v/u = (20/3) / 20 = (1/3)
If the plane of L-shaped wire is facing the mirror directly , then magnification of vertical side and horizontal side is same.
In that case , image size of horizontal side and that of verical side is same.
Image size is (1/3) of size of either vertical or horizontal length of wire .
