Gaurav never felt alienated in his family.  They treated him the same way as his other siblings.

Things took a bad turn when he joined school.

Gaurav didn't understand why his classmates always laughed at him. He, sometimes, without knowing laughed with them too.

Didn't know they were laughing at his inability to speak and do 'normal' things like them.

Gaurav was too little to know what 'normal' meant; too young to know what autism meant.

Even after burning night oil, when his grades fell, Gaurav realised something was wrong with him.

He was too afraid to tell his parents about his struggle to deal with his peers' bullying.

He opted to tolerate than to talk to his parents.

When hios dad got transferred to Delhi, Gaurav was delighted to know that he would be studying in a city in a new school.

He was eagar to meet his new teachers and his classmates.

He thought that his  bad days were over but he was shocked when he realised that his peers at the new school are unapologetic towards him.

Whenever, his parents enquired about his school, he lied about everything being good.

Meanwhile, he had had time keeping up with the grades. He failed miserably.

One day, he came home with a sprained wrist and head injury. He couldn't keep it to himself anymore. He poured his heart out to his parents.

When his parents informed the school management about this, they denied any involvement in this.

Dejected they tried convincing Gaurav to ignore their remarks and concentrate on studies.

He didn't want to be their reason for disappointment.

He went back, the gang who harassed him, cornered him and threatened him with dire consequences.

Afraid, he kept mum about all the torture he endured. Cursed himself for being different; cursed his parents for not treating him different and making him think it is ok to be different. His peers made him think differently, made him look down upon himself.

Gaurav fell into depression, stopped attending classes.

A new professor joins the institution. He comes to know about Gaurav and tries to figure out what is to be done.

Gaurav becomes his favourite student.

He decides to encourage Gaurav's talent to write stories.

Gaurav heeded the professor's advice and concentrated all his will power in writing stories. Post high school, he wrote motivational stories how to never give up in life. When one of his stories got published, he became a household name.

Now, a world renowned writer, Gaurav thanks God for making him different.
