A small lighting circuit draws small power hence small electric current. Therefore the upper limit of the current that should be allowed in the circuit must not exceed 5A.On the other hand ,in a small house there are many appliances that may draw higher power and require larger amount of electric current.Hence, the fuse wire used in such a circuit is the one which can withstand a higher current.
