Fuse is a wire joined in series with a device such that when the excess current flow, it melts and breaks the circuit. Now, MCB stands for miniature circuit breaker. This is a device that automatically 'switches off' the mains current if the current drawn exceeds the upper safe limit. It protects the entir circuit and appliances against short - circuiting. It replaces main fuse.It is more reliable , easy to operate and versatile than ordinary fuses.
