CBSE Class 12-science Answered

Four bad eggs are mixed with 10 good ones . three eggs are drawn one by one without replacement. Let X be the no of bad eggs  drawn . Find the mean and variance of X.

According to the question,
total number of eggs = 10 + 4 = 14
Bad eggs = 4
Let X be the number of bad eggs.
Hence, X can take value 0, 1, 2, 3, 4.
 
Now find mean and varaiance.
