Expert Answer
Let x be the total number of swans
The number of swans playing on the shore of tank = (7/2)x^(1/2)
The number of swans playing in water = 2
Thus we are required to solve the equation
x= (7/2)x^(1/2)+2
On solving we find the roots as 1/4 or 16
Since 1/4 is not feasible, the number of swans has to be 16
