Expert Answer
Canada has nearly 10% of the world’s forests. Forests contribute significantly to the Canadian economy in the following ways:
- Timber produced by Canada is used in the manufacturing of telegraph poles, building materials etc.
- Canada is the largest supplier of wood pulp and paper in the world which is a source of income to the government.
- Canada also leads in news print (a low cost paper mainly used for printing newspapers and other publications) production accounting for more than 50% of the world’s exports.
