Latent heat of fusion of ice = 333 J/gm

Increase in temperature of ice lump = Final - Initial = 0 - (-10) = 10 °C.

Amount of heat absorbed = (333J/gm)(5 gm) = 1665 J

Specific heat of ice = (Heat abosrbed)/(Mass)(Temperature increase)

= 1665/(80x10) = 2.08 J/gm°C = 0.5 cal/gm°C.
